Introduction

Rail Asset Development Ltd was founded in 2018 to offer design and delivery support for those who are developing on or around railway land.

Steve King has been joined progressively by Jim Todd, Zeinab Abdelaziz, Chris Wise and Donald Gilmour, each bringing a range of experience to strengthen the team. We understand both the construction and railway elements of railside projects.

Since 2018 we have provided support to a host of housing schemes from a development of three houses to one of 750 units.

Office schemes have ranged from a single storey vertical extension to a 28 storey tower over quadruple basement.

We have gone on to work on projects from Kent to Glasgow, and Exeter to Cambridge as we work towards providing a truly national service covering Network Rail, London Underground and others like the Glasgow Subway.

We have specialist knowledge of works adjoining or within Network Rail, London Overground, and London Underground environments.

Rail Projects

Support for those developing on or around the railway can also be flexible to suit your needs. Often these kinds of developments are seen as challenging and risky for the Client and project team and having specialist guidance can provide the confidence to move forward. Whether you are still sketching concepts or are halfway through construction, we can help. We have provided support for projects from £1.5m to £600m.

Within our team we have specialist knowledge of works adjoining or within Network Rail, London Overground, and London Underground environments, and can review your proposals to see how to gain the required approvals in the most pragmatic and effective way. We can highlight areas where changes to materials, methods or scope of a development can remove risk from a scheme and avoid potential delay. With the right approach, it is often possible to reduce the volume of information provided to the railway, but still gain their confidence and approval to the proposals.
