The duties undertaken included:

  • Lead for all LUL and NR interface issues on both sites
  • Network Rail Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) and CRE Construction
  • Proposed and agreed monitoring arrangements with NR and LUL
  • Determined list of required design and method deliverables and agreed with NR and LUL
  • Compiled, reviewed and negotiated approval of temporary works submissions, including basement propping scheme
  • Met NR and LUL regularly through design and delivery
  • Negotiated agreements for excavations up to 15m deep and 5m from the railway viaduct
  • Negotiated agreements for scaffolding 3.2m from the OLE
  • Managed the development and delivery of rail-specific safety briefings for all general construction staff working on the site
  • Developed a proposal for the removal of a section of NR viaduct known as the coal chute, which included relocating safety-critical rail assets
  • Scoped, procured and managed the NR-specialist design and construction teams developing the coal chute design and delivering it
